Empower India shares jump to a 5% upper circuit after IndiaAI Mission
The move followed the company pointing to IndiaAI Mission-led growth in AI computing, as India plans to add 20,000 GPUs and data centre capacity is projected to nearly quadruple by 2029.
Empower India Limited, a penny stock trading below ₹10, hit a 5% upper circuit at ₹1.93 per share during Monday's session on 7 September, after the company highlighted its expansion into sustainable digital infrastructure solutions.
The company said demand for energy-efficient data centres, high-performance computing infrastructure, advanced cooling systems and reliable power infrastructure is expected to rise as AI investments accelerate across India.
It linked the outlook to the Government of India's ₹10,372 crore IndiaAI Mission announced in 2024, which is aimed at scaling computing capacity, data infrastructure and AI applications.
Empower India also pointed to India already onboarding more than 38,000 GPUs and plans to add 20,000 more, while projecting data centre capacity to increase nearly fourfold from about 1.6 GW in 2026 to around 6 GW by 2029.
