Zurich U.S. names new leaders for Zurich E&S and U.S. Construction
The appointments take effect Sept. 16, 2026, as Christopher Lewis plans to retire after four years leading Zurich E&S.
Zurich U.S. appointed Tobias Cushing as president of Zurich E&S and James Savage as head of U.S. Construction, with both roles beginning Sept. 16, 2026, following Christopher Lewis’s planned retirement after four years leading Zurich E&S, according to Risk & Insurance.
Zurich U.S. CEO Sierra Signorelli said the leadership changes are intended to reflect the company’s talent and keep it close to customers and brokers amid a fast-moving market, adding that Cushing and Savage bring experience and a market focus meant to build on that momentum.
Cushing, who reports to Signorelli, previously served as head of Zurich U.S. Construction and earlier as deputy chief underwriting officer for Zurich North America, with the company citing his background in complex specialty markets and wholesale broker engagement.
Savage will report to Kelly Kinzer, global specialty head of Construction & Surety, after leading U.S. Construction Casualty for the past four years, with Zurich U.S. saying he brings technical credibility and market understanding for business serving general contractors and developers.
