Cedar Trace ILS names Fergus Reynolds CEO, expands leadership team
The Bermuda-based insurance-linked securities manager said the appointments are subject to regulatory, immigration, and board approval.
Cedar Trace ILS, a Bermuda-based specialist in insurance-linked securities and closely linked to Mereo Insurance, said Fergus Reynolds has been appointed to become its chief executive officer, subject to regulatory, immigration and board approval. Reynolds joined Cedar Trace ILS in 2025 as head of ILS and will lead the firm through its next phase of development.
Artemis reports the leadership changes are designed to strengthen Cedar Trace ILS’ investment management and operational capabilities in the insurance-linked securities market. The company said the moves reflect its focus on underwriting discipline, portfolio diversification, and risk-adjusted returns.
Cedar Trace ILS also announced William Luu will be promoted to chief operating officer of Cedar Trace Capital Management Limited, subject to regulatory and board approval. The firm said Luu joined in 2025 as managing director of Cedar Trace ILS and will oversee operations while supporting the investment management capabilities.
Separately, Artemis said James Spence will be appointed portfolio manager, with responsibility for portfolio construction, investment strategy, and risk management across Cedar Trace’s ILS strategies. Cedar Trace ILS also hired Segundo Parra Jurado as senior ILS analyst, joining from Hiscox Re.
