Christie’s launches a company-owned NYC luxury brokerage with Warburg agents

The new brokerage will be based on Manhattan’s Upper East Side and is set to pair residential advisory with fine art and luxury collectibles services.

Christie’s International Real Estate has launched a company-owned brokerage in New York City, starting operations with about 120 agents drawn from Warburg and additional agents from the firm’s former New York affiliate, according to HousingWire. The firm said the move creates a direct presence in the nation’s largest luxury housing market and deepens its ties to the Christie’s auction house, which shares the Christie’s name but is not owned by the same company. Christie’s International Real Estate New York will be led by Kevelyn Guzman, who previously managed Warburg for more than 18 years and now serves as regional vice president for the new operation. Christie’s International Real Estate said the brokerage is designed to align its residential brokerage business more closely with Christie’s art and luxury business. Gavin Swartzman, president of Christie’s International Real Estate, said the goal is to bring the two worlds closer together while giving advisors the tools to provide service. The brokerage will open at 60th Street and Madison Avenue on the Upper East Side, near luxury residential corridors and major retail and cultural destinations. It will also leverage its partnership with Christie’s auction house to expand client services related to fine art and luxury collectibles, including marketing, sale, acquisition, and financing support.
