Howden Re appoints Eloise Hurley Wellington to lead European programmes
The role is aimed at supporting Howden Re Programmes Europe, which backs MGAs and programme managers across Europe, as the MGA market matures.
Reinsurance broker Howden Re has appointed Eloise Hurley Wellington to lead Howden Re Programmes Europe, a unit that supports MGAs, programme managers, carriers and capacity providers across the region, according to Reinsurance News.
Howden Re Programmes Europe was previously called Bowood Europe, and the renaming reflects its continued evolution and alignment with Howden’s programmes identity and capabilities.
Hurley Wellington brings experience in delegated authority and specialty insurance, with a background advising MGAs, carriers and entrepreneurial underwriting businesses across Europe. Since joining Howden Re in 2023, she has worked on developing the firm’s European MGA and programmes business, including expanding insurer relationships and supporting clients throughout the MGA lifecycle.
The broker said the appointment strengthens its ability to serve clients in Europe’s growing and evolving MGA market, citing the need for specialist market knowledge and solutions as MGAs become more central to distribution and product development, as Howden Re Programmes Europe leadership also highlighted.
