Nationwide adds an actively managed mutual fund option to fixed indexed annuity
Nationwide says its New Heights Select suite will also add an S&P 500 Distance Stabilizer Index and a GS American Funds index with a volatility cap of 15% for the new strategy options.
Nationwide and Annexus are adding a new strategy to the Nationwide New Heights Select fixed indexed annuity suite, linking it to the American Funds Growth Fund of America Class F-3 mutual fund, according to Coverager.
Nationwide says the fixed indexed annuity option uses an actively managed mutual fund strategy without customers investing directly in the fund or owning its shares. The suite is also adding the S&P 500 Distance Stabilizer Index, developed with Société Générale, and the GS American Funds GFA 15% Index, which is based on the Growth Fund of America and includes a risk-adjustment mechanism that caps volatility at 15%.
The insurer also raised the compound annual roll-up rate on its High Point 365 Select Lifetime Income rider with Bonus for New Heights Select 8, 9 and 12, increasing it from 9.5% to 10%. Coverager also notes that Nationwide and Annexus previously introduced similar registered index-linked annuity offerings tied to an actively managed fund, with both applications filed on August 21, 2026 and currently pending assignment to an examining attorney.
