OtterBox adopts Truepic photo authentication for warranty claims
Under the partnership, OtterBox customers can submit images of damaged products in under 60 seconds on average, and verified claims can move forward without manual photo review.
OtterBox has adopted Truepic Vision to authenticate photos and videos submitted with warranty and protection plan claims, using customers’ smartphones as the capture method, Coverager reports.
The Truepic system performs more than 50 checks on submitted images and related data to detect manipulation, suspicious activity, and fraud patterns, and it can help route verified claims without manual photo review.
During the first four months of the partnership, Truepic authenticated images for more than 100,000 OtterBox claims, according to Coverager.
The outlet also notes the platform flags suspicious devices and locations and distributes anonymized alerts across internal teams and participating organizations, while Jewelers Mutual can use Truepic’s image verification with more than twenty-two checks performed in under fifteen seconds.
