Transamerica appoints new retirement sales leaders for large and mid markets
The insurer said it manages more than $253 billion in retirement plan assets and is seeing growth in pooled plans as well as higher demand for IRA and stable-value products.
Transamerica has appointed Kevin Murphy as national sales manager for the large market and promoted Danny Kling to national sales manager for the mid-market, as part of changes to its retirement distribution leadership.
Murphy joins the company with more than 20 years of financial services experience, including leadership roles at Broadridge and Franklin Templeton, and will oversee large-market distribution while supporting growth strategies, partnerships, and market expansion. Kling most recently served as divisional sales manager at Transamerica and will succeed Brian Walker, who is set to retire on October 1.
In its announcement, Transamerica said it supports more than $253 billion in retirement plan assets and reported sales growth in pooled plans, along with increased demand for IRA and stable-value products. The company added that it is investing in leadership to support clients and expand access to retirement solutions.
Transamerica attributed the appointments to what it called ongoing momentum in its retirement business, citing Darren Zino’s statement that the new leaders bring deep industry experience. The company also noted that Empathy currently serves more than 45 million families through partnerships with life insurance providers across the US and Canada.
