Vero launches pay-per-mile insurance for Uber drivers in Australia
The policy pairs a fixed premium for private use with a rideshare premium based on miles driven on the Uber platform.
Suncorp-owned Vero has partnered with Uber and Cover Genius to launch a pay-per-mile insurance product for rideshare drivers in Australia.
The offering is designed to combine private driving and Uber driving under a single policy, with a fixed premium for private use and a rideshare premium that scales with miles driven on the Uber platform.
Vero said the coverage includes protection for vehicle damage and for theft or loss of the vehicle while it is being used privately or for Uber rideshare work.
Eligible drivers can apply for the insurance directly through the Uber Driver app.
