Thompson law firm signs 5-year lease at 622 Third Avenue
The firm will take about 4,000 square feet on the 16th floor of the Midtown East tower, with an asking rent of $75 per square foot, and plans to move in this fall.
Thompson, a boutique New York City law firm focused on mergers and acquisitions, tax transactions, and intellectual property, is relocating its offices to Cohen Brothers’ 622 Third Avenue, Commercial Observer reports.
The firm has signed a five-year lease for 4,000 square feet on the 16th floor of the 40-story Midtown East office tower, also known as Grand Central Plaza. Thompson is expected to move in during the fall from its current location at 75 Broad Street in the Financial District.
Commercial Observer adds that tenant broker Resolution Real Estate said the asking rent was $75 per square foot. Resolution’s Jeffrey Zund and Michael Adler represented Thompson, while Cohen Brothers was represented in-house by Marc Horowitz.
The story notes that 622 Third Avenue, designed by Emery Roth & Sons, is between East 40th and East 41st streets and received a $5 million renovation in the early 2010s. Tenants listed in the building include employment agency TemPositions, Zenith IOS, and commercial real estate financing and advisory firm Cooper-Horowitz.
