Imas commissions third flour mill for central Africa customer
The new 720 tpd mill, which began operating in September, brings Imas’ total installed capacity for the customer to 1,180 tpd and adds 238,000 tonnes per year of wheat processing capacity.
Imas has commissioned a third flour mill for a customer in central Africa, adding 720 tonnes per day (tpd) of capacity that started operations in September, World Grain reports.
The project follows prior mills built for the same customer, including a 300-tpd mill completed in 2021 and a 160-tpd mill completed in 2024. In total, Imas has delivered 1,180 tpd of installed milling capacity for the customer, which World Grain says translates to 238,000 tonnes per year of wheat processing capacity.
World Grain also describes the facility as a greenfield, turnkey project covering engineering, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning, with Imas designing and building the steel mill building. The plant uses an end-to-end automation system from wheat intake through flour packaging, designed to support centralized management, operational efficiency, and traceability, alongside real-time reporting on production, yield, and consumption.
Imas’ after-sales team can connect remotely to the mill for troubleshooting and technical assistance. World Grain adds that Green Acres Milling will soon begin operating an oat mill with annual production capacity of 39,420 tonnes of finished oat products.
