Marsh appoints Alexander Reath to lead U.S. real estate practice

Reath, a property insurance veteran with more than 25 years of experience, will lead Marsh’s U.S. real estate practice across all asset classes.

Marsh, headquartered in New York City, appointed Alexander Reath as its U.S. real estate and hospitality practice leader for Marsh Risk.

Reath is based in Boston and reports to Darren Cromwell, industry practice group leader, Marsh Risk, U.S. and Canada. Marsh said Reath will lead its U.S. real estate practice across all asset classes, bringing more than 25 years of property insurance experience, including more than a decade leading Marsh’s New England property practice.

Marsh added that in a prior role as U.S. property real estate leader, Reath developed marketplace strategies and delivered customized solutions for complex real estate and hospitality risks.

AXIS Capital Holdings also announced leadership changes, hiring Kyle Sternadori as head of U.S. excess casualty and appointing Mike Flaherty as chief underwriting officer for wholesale casualty. Sternadori will lead the strategic direction, underwriting performance, and market development of the excess casualty business, while Flaherty’s expanded role includes underwriting governance, product strategy, and portfolio oversight across the wholesale casualty platform.
