MoonPay to acquire SEC-registered North Capital in an all-stock deal

The transaction is valued at more than $60 million and is set to add US broker-dealer, trading, and investment infrastructure to MoonPay.

MoonPay plans to acquire SEC-registered North Capital in an all-stock deal valued at more than $60 million, according to CoinDesk and Cointelegraph.

Both outlets reported that the acquisition is intended to strengthen MoonPay’s ability to support mass adoption of tokenized real-world assets.

CoinDesk said MoonPay CEO Ivan Soto-Wright framed the purchase as a step toward expanding capabilities around tokenized assets.

Cointelegraph added that North Capital’s US broker-dealer status and trading and investment infrastructure are expected to support MoonPay’s push into tokenized securities.
