Liberty Mutual Investments hires Paschal Brooks to lead ILS solutions
The newly created role is designed to deepen the link between Liberty Mutual’s capital and risk capabilities, with Brooks partnering closely with Global Risk Solutions.
Liberty Mutual Investments, the investment arm of Liberty Mutual Group, has hired insurance-linked securities market executive Paschal Brooks as Managing Director and Head of Insurance Solutions & Capital Markets, according to Artemis.
The post places Brooks’ team within Liberty Mutual Investments’ Global Strategy & Capital Allocation business. Artemis reports the appointment is notable as it is the first time the investment arm has an ILS specialist on the team, and it supports the firm’s focus on capital-efficient structures at the intersection of insurance and capital markets.
Artemis said Brooks brings more than 25 years of experience, joining from Aon Securities LLC where he most recently served as a Managing Director. His prior background includes roles at Goldman Sachs and AlphaCat Managers in Bermuda, where he ultimately became Chief Executive Officer of AlphaCat Capital Inc.
Liberty Mutual Investments also said the new role will be supported through close partnership with Global Risk Solutions, part of a structure the insurer created earlier this year under Global Risk & Capital Solutions leadership, Artemis added.
