US bill would broaden products covered by trade blacklist
The bill would bar affected items from being imported, marketed, or sold as new products in the US, according to SCMP Economy.
China’s technology sector is facing new pressure in the United States as US lawmakers propose widening the scope of a trade blacklist, the South China Morning Post reports.
The proposed Communications and Technology Transparency Act, introduced by the US House Energy and Commerce Committee, would expand the range of products that can be placed on the list.
Products covered by the blacklist would not be legally imported, marketed, or sold as new products in the US, SCMP Economy adds.
Separately, SCMP Economy notes that Lenovo Group is also involved in a patent dispute concerning memory devices.
