US dollar extends gains as Treasury yields rise and EUR/USD falls
The US Dollar Index moved back above 101.00, while EUR/USD slid toward the 1.1370 area as the dollar strengthened alongside higher Treasury yields.
FXStreet reports the US dollar extended its streak of gains on Wednesday, posting a third consecutive day higher as the US Dollar Index (DXY) revisited levels last seen in late July above the 101.00 barrier.
The same session saw Treasury yields rise across the curve, with FXStreet linking the dollar’s strength to solid US economic data and hawkish Fed-related commentary.
EUR/USD fell sharply toward the 1.1370 region, with FXStreet noting it was nearing yearly lows as the dollar pushed higher.
The newsletter also pointed to an upcoming schedule of US data, including weekly Initial Jobless Claims and New Home Sales, along with speeches ahead of the Trump-Xi summit.
