Allianz Commercial appoints Stephen Morton to lead captive solutions

Morton will start the role on March 1, 2027, and Allianz said the global captive market now totals $60 billion in premiums across about 6,000 captives.

Allianz Commercial announced Stephen Morton will take over as global head of Captive Fronting and Captive Solutions, effective March 1, 2027, based in Paris. The appointment was announced by the insurer’s leadership team on September 24, 2026.

In comments reported by Risk & Insurance, Allianz said its captive solutions team has expanded in recent years as the captive market has grown in parallel. Allianz also said the captive market totals $60 billion in premiums across around 6,000 captives globally.

Risk & Insurance said Morton brings more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on multinational and captive business. He is joining from AIG, where he served as global chief underwriting officer for Fronting and Multinational.

The outlet also reported that, at AIG, Morton previously held senior roles including Head of Complex Multinational Solutions, along with earlier leadership positions across Bermuda, London, and other regional captive and multinational assignments.
