Aon launches insurance facility for onshore renewables up to $300 million

The new Global Onshore Renewables Facility offers policy limits of up to $300 million per location and covers both construction and operational phases for onshore wind, solar and battery storage projects.

Aon, a global insurance and reinsurance broker and risk advisor, has launched a new insurance solution called the Global Onshore Renewables Facility aimed at onshore wind, solar photovoltaic and battery storage projects.

The facility combines dedicated insurer capacity for projects valued up to $300 million, with policy limits up to $300 million per location, and is designed to provide streamlined coverage across multiple markets throughout the project lifecycle.

Aon said the coverage spans the construction and operational phases, and that the offering was built in response to rising investment in renewable energy infrastructure.

Developed by Aon’s Global Broking Centre in London, the broker said the coordinated, scalable approach is intended to simplify insurance placement and improve access to capacity for developers, owners and contractors.
