Older office buildings can compete on location and functionality, experts say

A “flight to quality” theme has been prominent in the office market, with companies seeking newer, heavily amenitized buildings as they consolidate and upgrade workspaces to draw employees back to offices, according to ConnectCRE.

ConnectCRE reports that experts say many older office buildings can still win occupiers, particularly when they offer the right mix of location, functionality, and investment.

ConnectCRE also quoted Guckenheimer Americas CEO Steve Quick as saying there is not one universal definition of “quality,” and he cautioned against assuming every occupier wants or needs the newest or flashiest asset.
