Taula Capital drops 9.4% this year as rates volatility weighs
Taula Capital fell 4.3% in September, reversing part of an earlier recovery, according to Bloomberg cited by Hedgeweek.
Taula Capital Management has declined 9.4% this year through September 18 as volatile global rates markets have hurt macro-focused hedge funds, according to Bloomberg, as summarized by Hedgeweek.
Hedgeweek, citing Bloomberg, said the firm fell 4.3% in September, reversing some of the recovery it had made after earlier losses, and that Taula’s performance figures are not publicly disclosed.
The latest setback comes during a turbulent period for global rates markets, with Hedgeweek pointing to a jump in two-year US Treasury yields after the Federal Reserve delivered its first interest-rate increase since 2023, and to Brent crude moving above $100 a barrel.
Hedgeweek also linked the pressure on macro traders to rapid reassessment of the global interest-rate outlook, yield curves shifting lower, and earlier disruptions to markets from US and Israeli military strikes against Iran that sent energy prices higher and complicated expectations for central bank easing.
