LA office market recovery creates opportunities in stable submarkets
The city’s office outlook varies widely by submarket, and industry-specific performance is flowing through to office demand, according to a panel at Bisnow’s Los Angeles Office and Workplace Summit.
Bisnow reports that Los Angeles’ office market recovery remains uneven, but the splintered pattern has opened opportunities for investors and operators who focus on specific pockets of stability rather than the market’s overall reputation.
Panelists at Bisnow’s Los Angeles Office and Workplace Summit on Sept. 15 described how larger investors and operators have avoided or exited parts of the market, yet argued those moves do not reflect conditions across the city’s sprawling, fragmented office landscape.
DivcoWest Managing Director of Asset Management Jared Crowley said Los Angeles cannot be treated as a single market, characterizing it instead as a series of “industry islands and talent nodes” where underlying industry performance can translate into office-market results.
Bisnow notes that Century City was cited as an example of a submarket with its own distinct trajectory since the pandemic.
