Swire Coca-Cola in China uses AI to tailor drink orders
The company’s mainland plants also deploy AI-powered robots to pick and sort shrink-wrapped loads from pallets at high speed.
Hong Kong’s economic transformation is at a critical juncture, Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu said, with the private sector needing to adapt, according to an SCMP Economy analysis of established firms.
In Jiangsu province, a salesman for Hong Kong bottling giant Swire Coca-Cola can now use a mobile phone to see which drinks local customers are most likely to buy.
The outlet says Swire Coca-Cola uses AI to generate “suggested orders” by combining factors such as neighborhood consumer profiles with information held across the company’s operations.
It adds that the company’s mainland plants are also using AI-powered robots to make decisions and adapt to changing operating conditions while picking and sorting heavy, shrink-wrapped loads from pallets at high speed.
