Microsoft executive says insurers are already using AI for data extraction
In a Peer to Pier interview at Insurance Fest 2026, Microsoft senior director insurance industry advisor Naveen Dhar discussed how artificial intelligence and connected data are affecting insurance underwriting and claims, while also distinguishing real use cases from hype, according to Insurance Business.
Dhar said that from a content perspective, insurers are already using tools to extract data from the documents that arrive in the claims and underwriting process.
He added that these tools can help make both underwriting and the claims process more efficient, without going into specific metrics or outcomes in the segment provided.
