Strategy buys 1,665 Bitcoin in latest weekly purchase
The company paid about $85,681 per token for the week ended Sept. 27, following a prior purchase of 950 BTC for $75.7 million.
Michael Saylor-led Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) made its first back-to-back weekly Bitcoin purchases since June, rebuilding holdings after selling some earlier this quarter, CryptoSlate reports.
On Sept. 28, Strategy said it acquired 1,665 Bitcoin for $142.7 million during the week ended Sept. 27, which worked out to an average price of $85,681 per token.
That latest buy followed a purchase of 950 BTC for $75.7 million the prior week, ending a three month stretch without consecutive weekly acquisitions.
The outlet said Strategy previously sold some Bitcoin earlier in the quarter, pushing its quarterly Bitcoin accumulation into negative territory, but the two newest purchases reversed the decline, leaving it with a net 1,666 BTC added in the third quarter with three trading days remaining.
