WTI trades near $93.05 after Trump rejects Iran peace deal
WTI moved higher as the proposal aimed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which traders view as key to regional supply flows.
WTI, the US crude benchmark, was trading around $93.05 in early Asian hours on Monday after President Donald Trump rejected an Iranian peace proposal, according to FXStreet.
The proposal was intended to end the US-Iran conflict and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, but Trump said he expects talks with Iran to resume this week while Iran said it is awaiting a definitive US response and would not soften its conditions.
FXStreet also noted heightened regional risk tied to attacks in the Saudi Arabia theater, with Saudi-backed coalition forces in Yemen reporting interceptions of drones and a ballistic missile aimed at Khamis Mushait. Analysts at ANZ said geopolitical risks remain elevated, keeping regional supply flows vulnerable.
