Argentina threatens legal action unless the UK halts Falklands Sea Lion project

Argentina has threatened to take legal action against the United Kingdom unless it suspends an offshore oil drilling project near the Falkland Islands, according to OilPrice, citing reporting by the BBC.
OilPrice said the threat is tied to a post on X by Argentine President Javier Milei, who directed the foreign ministry and legal teams to start international arbitration against the UK.
The dispute centers on the Sea Lion project in the North Malvinas area, which Argentina characterizes as illegal exploitation of its resources, according to OilPrice.
