Ascot appoints three executives to key leadership roles
Mark Pepper and Elizabeth Johnson start in their new posts on Oct. 1, while Christopher Flatt joins in early November.
Ascot Group Limited, a global specialty re/insurance company, has named Mark Pepper as President, Global Underwriting; Elizabeth Johnson as President, Specialty Insurance and Reinsurance; and Christopher Flatt as President of Consumer Solutions.
The appointments are intended to advance the company’s strategy and position Ascot for its next phase of growth, with Pepper and Johnson effective Oct. 1 and Flatt set to join in early November.
Ascot said Pepper’s expanded remit will include efforts to elevate its underwriting capabilities and work closely with Jonathan Zaffino, Group CEO and President, along with the company’s segment CEOs to develop growth strategies and strengthen coordination across Ascot’s UK, US and Bermuda businesses.
The carrier added that Pepper’s role will also cover promoting product innovation and recruiting and retaining underwriting talent, noting he has nearly four decades of industry experience and joined Ascot in 2001 to lead its Treaty Reinsurance team.
