Foresee launches AI agent to shop car and home insurance in California

The platform starts with car insurance, then uses carrier filings and formulas to generate a carrier-specific rate before users move to the insurer to complete a real quote form.

Foresee, a startup focused on using AI agents to shop for home and auto insurance, officially launched in California, with car insurance available first.

The service lets users chat with Foresee’s AI agent or their own agent via an MCP, then provides basic details that feed into an engine using carrier filings and formulas to produce a rate based on the user’s profile. Users can select a carrier, after which the Foresee agent fills out the insurer’s real quote form and reads back the price shown on the site, according to Coverager.

Foresee directs users to the carrier site to start and complete a quote once an actual rate is presented. In testing, Coverager reported that the agent could not obtain a quote from Safeway because the insurer does not sell online and lacks a “site walk” option.

Coverager also reported that if users buy coverage, Foresee receives a commission from the carrier, based on a conversation with the company’s agent.
