Hong Kong prepares for higher visitor crowds during golden week holiday
Hong Kong expects about 1.29 million mainland arrivals from October 1 to 7, with the daily average forecast rising more than 5.0% from last year.
Hong Kong is bracing for a surge of mainland Chinese visitors to eco sensitive and other popular areas during the National Day golden week holiday, South China Morning Post reported.
A review of discussions on China’s RedNote highlighted Po Pin Chau, known for volcanic rock columns, along with Cheung Chau and Sai Kung, as well as Wong Mau Chau, an official coral zone.
The outlet also pointed to National Day fireworks, cycling routes from Sha Tin toward Tai Mei Tuk, and National Day horse racing as items featuring on travel itineraries.
