JW Anderson leases 4,500 square feet for first U.S. stand-alone store in SoHo
The retailer will take 3,000 square feet on the ground floor and 1,500 square feet on the lower level, with an asking rent of about $300 per square foot for the ground-floor space.
British luxury fashion label JW Anderson has leased 4,500 square feet at 138 Wooster Street in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood for its first stand-alone store in the United States, Commercial Observer reports. The store is part of the brand’s move into a sought-after stretch of SoHo where quality retail space is becoming increasingly scarce.
The space will include 3,000 square feet on the ground floor and 1,500 square feet on the lower level. Commercial Observer also reports that the asking rent was approximately $300 per square foot for the ground-floor space, citing a source.
The property, located between Prince and West Houston streets, is owned by Aurora Capital Associates. Commercial Observer says Newmark’s Jonathan Schley, along with Gabriel Staab and Pierce Thompson from Newmark’s New York office, represented JW Anderson in the deal, and Newmark declined to comment.
