Liberty Mutual says AI is shifting construction risk management to proactive
In a September 29, 2026 interview, Liberty Mutual described using AI to spot hazards earlier and prioritize the highest-risk job site exposures, alongside added cybersecurity and privacy demands.
Liberty Mutual Insurance, in an interview with Amy Gross, General Manager, North America Construction, Global Risk Solutions, said AI and related technologies are helping construction firms move from reactive risk management to a more proactive approach.
According to the discussion, AI can detect risk conditions earlier than traditional workflows, prioritize the highest-risk exposures, and support interventions before an event occurs, including improved job site safety and hazard recognition.
The interview also said connected technologies are creating new operational needs, including cybersecurity and privacy demands, as well as the requirement for human oversight.
The transcript, edited for length and clarity, was published September 29, 2026, and it referenced an August 2026 conversation with Risk & Insurance.
