World Insurance Associates buys American Insurance Agency for expansion

The acquisition takes effect June 1, 2026, and marks World’s first presence in the greater Boston area.

World Insurance Associates is acquiring American Insurance Agency of Hingham, Massachusetts, with the deal effective June 1, 2026, establishing the firm’s first presence in the greater Boston area, Insurance Business reports.

American Insurance, founded in 1991, serves a range of commercial clients across construction, manufacturing, hospitality, restaurants, real estate, auto services, energy, entertainment and amusement, special events, and skating and sports facilities.

James J. Farren, owner of American Insurance Agency, said joining World would allow the firm to expand the products and services it offers existing clients.

World executive chairman and founder Rich Eknoian said the acquisition is part of building World’s greater Boston presence and that American Insurance’s business will continue to grow as part of World.
