10 Nifty 50 stocks fall in September as crude and yields bite
Nifty 50 declined about 6% in September and is down 13.5% for the year to date, as Bajaj Finserv, Infosys, and TCS posted double digit monthly drops.
LiveMint Markets reported that 10 Nifty 50 constituents, including Infosys and TCS, ended September with double digit losses as the broader sell off deepened.
The outlet cited multiple drivers for the downturn, including elevated crude prices, persistent overseas selling, and surging global bond yields, which left markets with limited support.
Bajaj Finserv was flagged as the top laggard among Nifty 50 stocks, falling 14.35% to ₹1,731, its biggest monthly drop since March, with year to date losses widening. Infosys and TCS followed with declines of 13.1% and 12.4%, respectively, according to Trendlyne data.
LiveMint Markets added that tech stocks continued to weigh on the index, with FMCG and auto stocks also falling, while primary market activity stayed active in September through offerings involving the National Stock Exchange of India and SBI Funds Management.
