AXA XL launches excess and surplus insurance company for wholesale brokers
The new AXA XL Excess & Surplus Lines Insurance Company is set to start underwriting E&S casualty business in early 2027, with the transition of existing policies expected midyear.
AXA XL has launched AXA XL Excess & Surplus Lines Insurance Company, a dedicated legal entity designed to exclusively serve wholesale brokers, with the carrier operating alongside AXA XL’s existing entities and joining the same insurance pool as Indian Harbor Insurance Company, according to Coverager.
The new carrier will issue E&S policies developed by AXA XL in collaboration with wholesale brokers nationwide, and the rollout will align with AXA XL’s planned implementation of Guidewire as its E&S policy administration system in 2027.
Underwriting of E&S casualty new business is scheduled to begin in early 2027, while existing policies are expected to transition in midyear, with E&S property business to follow later in 2027, Coverager reports.
During the transition, products and rates will remain unchanged, and Coverager also notes that Rodliff will lead AXA XL’s claims strategy and operations across the Americas region.
