Bitcoin rises about 40% in its best quarter since late 2024

Bitcoin is up nearly 30% since Aug. 19, when the U.S. Treasury announced plans to more than double the size of its debt repurchases.

Bitcoin has surged about 40% over the past quarter, marking its best quarterly performance since Q4 2024, Bitcoin Magazine reports.

The outlet ties the move largely to the U.S. Treasury’s announcement of a debt buyback program, which it says is putting bitcoin on course for one of its strongest quarters.

According to Bitcoin Magazine, bitcoin is up close to 30% since Aug. 19, when Treasury said it planned to more than double the size of government debt repurchases.

Bitcoin Magazine adds that the coin was recently near $83,698, unchanged over 24 hours but up 6% over the past 30 days.
