Eben Ellertson becomes CEO of L+M Companies, with Carrie Van Syckel as president

The firm said the leadership team will oversee its affordable and mixed-income housing development and preservation, including expansion beyond its footprint of 15 states.

L+M Companies, the umbrella organization for L+M Development Partners, LMXD and L+M Fund Management, named Eben Ellertson as its new CEO, Commercial Observer reports. Ellertson was previously a partner at L+M Development Partners.

The firm also elevated Carrie Van Syckel, formerly chief investment officer and a partner at L+M Development Partners, to president and chief investment officer of the umbrella company. Commercial Observer reports that both executives, who have worked together for over a decade, will lead the organization in its new roles.

According to the firm, Ellertson and Van Syckel will oversee L+M Companies' affordable and mixed-income housing development and preservation. The outlet reports the company is pursuing what it called a new phase of growth beyond its current footprint of 15 states, while continuing its commitment to New York City.

In a statement cited by Commercial Observer, Ellertson said demand for quality affordable and mixed-income housing has never been higher and that L+M aims to meet that need while delivering for partners in government. The article also notes L+M has a 40-year track record.
