Iran warns energy infrastructure across Middle East may be targeted
The threat comes as ships continue to be targeted in the Strait of Hormuz, according to the report.
OilPrice reports that Iran warned it could attack energy infrastructure across the Middle East if its security is not guaranteed, escalating its rhetoric while it waits for the United States to formally respond to an Iranian plan it says would reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
The outlet says air attacks between the sides have subsided recently, but vessels in the key waterway continue to be targeted by Iran, which claims control over the strait.
OilPrice adds that the standoff is playing out as Iran’s warnings and the shipping incidents in the Strait of Hormuz continue despite the recent lull in air activity.
