The Hartford names Morris Mo Tooker as next CEO

The leadership change takes effect March 1, 2027, with current CEO Christopher Swift moving to Executive Chair on the same date.

Reinsurance News reports that US insurer The Hartford has appointed Morris “Mo” Tooker as its next chief executive officer, effective March 1, 2027.

Tooker will succeed Christopher Swift, who will transition to the role of Executive Chair of the Board on March 1, 2027.

The company also said Tooker will join the board starting October 1, 2026.

Reinsurance News added that Tooker has been with The Hartford since 2015 and currently serves as president, where he leads business performance, strategy, and enterprise-wide execution.
