Kin lets consumers use AI shopping agents to get home insurance quotes
Kin said it will provide the AI agents with property details such as roof condition and whether a pool is on the property.
Kin said consumers using Meta’s Muse and other AI agents can shop for home insurance quotes through Kin.com, positioning the approach as a way to bypass insurers and marketplaces that block automated shopping, according to Coverager.
The company said Muse retrieved home insurance quotes in testing after asking customers only a handful of questions, and attributed the result to Kin’s existing property data that reduces how much homeowners need to provide.
Kin also argued that AI shopping agents could pressure distribution models built around brokers and independent agents, while framing the shift as an opportunity because Kin sells directly to consumers.
Kin expects AI agents to handle more of the insurance-shopping workflow, including gathering information, entering it across websites, comparing coverage, and explaining options, and it will share property inputs such as roof condition, roof type, tree coverage, and whether a swimming pool is present.
