Nifty 50 ends H1FY27 up 1.3% as oil and bond yields rise
The index closed at 22,620.45 on Sept. 30, down 0.42% on the day, after the US-Iran conflict pushed oil prices higher.
India’s Nifty 50 finished H1FY27 with a modest 1.3% gain, closing at 22,620.45 on Sept. 30 after ending down 0.42% on the day, according to LiveMint Markets.
The article said the index has been under pressure from higher oil prices tied to the US-Iran conflict, after the US and Israel attacked Iran in February, with West Asia tensions continuing.
It added that seven Nifty stocks fell more than 10% in the first half, while 16 stocks rose more than 10%, highlighting a wide dispersion in performance.
LiveMint Markets attributed the macro challenge for India, the world’s third-largest oil importer, to rising oil costs alongside higher bond yields amid geopolitical uncertainty.
