Sensex and Nifty slip as selling pressure returns
During the session, the Nifty fell below 22,650 and the Sensex dropped more than 100 points, with healthcare and pharma stocks leading the weakness.
LiveMint Markets said India’s Sensex and Nifty turned lower again on Wednesday as selling pressure resurfaced after a brief recovery.
The outlet reported that early trade showed gains, with the Nifty 50 up 0.2% to 22,762 and the BSE Sensex up 0.46% to 72,877.11, but the advances faded later as both benchmarks slipped into negative territory.
According to LiveMint Markets, the intraday drop included the Sensex falling more than 100 points and the Nifty moving below the 22,650 mark, while healthcare and pharmaceutical stocks saw heavy selling that weighed on overall sentiment.
The report also noted that crude oil prices eased, despite ongoing uncertainty tied to the US-Iran conflict and concerns about potential energy supply risks from the region.
