The Hartford names Mo Tooker next CEO effective March 1, 2027

Tooker will join The Hartford board on October 1, 2026, before succeeding Christopher Swift on March 1, 2027.

The Hartford has named President A. Morris “Mo” Tooker as its next CEO, with the leadership change set to take effect March 1, 2027, according to Coverager.

Tooker will also join the insurer’s board on October 1, 2026, and he will succeed Christopher Swift, who will shift to the role of executive chair.

Coverager reports that Tooker joined The Hartford in 2015 as chief underwriting officer and has held multiple leadership roles over the past 11 years.

Swift will become executive chair after nearly 13 years as CEO, and Coverager says the company credited his tenure with more than tripling its net income return on equity and increasing its share price more than eightfold.
