Mainland tourist gives away HK$10,000 McDonald’s voucher in Hong Kong

The voucher was valid for one week and limited to up to 10 transactions at McDonald’s stores in Hong Kong, with each transaction capped at HK$1,000.

A mainland Chinese tourist in Hong Kong has spent her final day in the city giving away a McDonald’s voucher worth HK$10,000, according to a report from SCMP Economy. The woman posted about the giveaway on RedNote and said she won the “Hong Kong McDonald’s HK$10,000 subsidy” through Alipay on Saturday.

The voucher was valid for only one week, and it could be used for up to 10 transactions, with each transaction capped at HK$1,000. SCMP Economy also reported that the offer was restricted to McDonald’s stores in Hong Kong.

With a day left before returning to the mainland and after in-store gift cards sold out, the woman decided to treat strangers, including elderly people, cleaners, and the homeless, as a way of sharing her winnings around the city.
