Agentic AI seen as catalyst for small business benefits industry

iSolved executive Barry Gauch said the company has already launched an AI agent for HR providers focused on payroll processes, with more agents for benefits advisors and platform participants in development.

Insurance Business America reports that agentic artificial intelligence could bring needed disruption to the health and welfare benefits industry, with an insurtech executive citing the technology’s growing use in day to day business operations.

Barry Gauch, executive vice president for marketplace and benefits at iSolved Incorporated, said the volume of agentic AI items operating beneath user platforms surprised him, and he framed the trend as a source of ideas to run businesses more effectively for clients.

Insurance Business America adds that iSolved has already launched its first AI agent for HR providers to guide payroll processes and error connection, while further agents to support benefits advisors and platform participants are in development.

Gauch also pointed to conference takeaways that agentic AI can drive back office efficiencies, describing that area as ripe for acceleration.
