Asurion adds monitoring-only tier to LeakProtect program
The expanded three-tier LeakProtect lineup includes an Essential option that provides continuous water monitoring and leak alerts without an automatic shutoff valve.
Asurion has added LeakProtect Essential to its managed water loss prevention program for insurance carriers, expanding the offering to homes where installing an automatic shutoff valve may not be practical. The new option is part of a three-tier lineup, with Essential delivering continuous water monitoring and leak alerts without a shutoff valve, according to Coverager.
The program also includes LeakProtect Standard, which adds automatic shutoff on a home’s main water line, and LeakProtect XL for larger and more complex properties, including homes with 1.5-inch or 2-inch water mains or multiple points of water control. Across the program, Asurion manages home assessments, device selection, professional installation through licensed plumbers, activation, and ongoing support.
Asurion’s service includes 24/7 monitoring, human review of significant alerts, warranty administration, and up to $500 in plumbing discounts for qualifying leaks. The expansion also broadens Asurion’s relationship with Phyn, with LeakProtect Standard using Phyn Plus, Essential using Phyn Assist, and XL using Phyn Protect XL, Coverager reported.
