BenefitHub hires executives ahead of voluntary benefits push
The platform said the hires come after its strongest financial year on record, while voluntary benefits in-force premiums rose to $56.6 billion in 2024.
BenefitHub has added three senior leaders as it steps up its push in the voluntary benefits market, where employer-paid benefit budgets are tightening and voluntary products are taking on more of the cost. The company named Sarah Oliver as executive vice president of voluntary products, Matt Craven as executive vice president of partnerships, and Daniel Owens as chief financial officer.
Insurance Business reports that the company said the appointments follow what it described as its strongest financial year on record, though it did not disclose any figures. Oliver’s role is positioned as the most strategic, and her background includes more than 20 years on the carrier side of voluntary benefits, with leadership experience at Unum, Guardian, Prudential, and Trustmark covering product strategy, enrollment solutions, and benefits technology.
According to Insurance Business, Oliver had served as a board advisor to BenefitHub since 2025 before joining full-time. The outlet also notes that voluntary benefits in-force premiums reached $56.6 billion in 2024, up 6.1 percent, citing Eastbridge Consulting Group’s US Voluntary/Worksite Sales Report.
