China aims for solid-state battery production by 2030
China says it will focus on lowering solid-state battery costs and improving performance, targeting commercial production by 2030.
China is laying out a plan to extend its leadership in batteries beyond lithium-ion to solid-state batteries, according to OilPrice.
The Beijing government aims to cut solid-state battery costs, improve performance, and start commercial production by 2030, the outlet said.
OilPrice also described the effort as part of a five-year window for upgrading the “new-type” battery industry, as China looks to seize the period for technology development.
