Fort Worth approves tax incentives for Harting Connectivity plant
The deal includes a 10-year tax abatement that could refund up to 65% of the project’s property taxes, with city officials valuing the agreement at $6M.
Fort Worth City Council approved incentives for Harting Connectivity to build a nearly $200M manufacturing facility, with the package centered on a 10-year tax abatement. Bisnow reports the proposed plant is valued at $192.7M and would serve as the company’s new U.S. headquarters.
Harting Connectivity is considering Fort Worth along with two other locations for the project, which is expected to create 700 jobs if the company chooses the Texas city. The company is a subsidiary of Germany-based Harting Technology Group, and its current U.S. headquarters is in Illinois.
Bisnow reports the decadelong tax abatement would refund up to 65% of the project’s property taxes. City officials estimate the agreement’s value at $6M, saying the city participation rate is 3% and that for every public dollar put in, the city expects $32 back.
