Mosaic adds political violence coverage via Cologne unit with up to €100M capacity
The insurer says it can write EEA business directly through brokers and covers risks including terrorism, sabotage, riots, and active assailant incidents.
Mosaic Insurance is expanding its political violence offering in Europe through its European headquarters in Cologne, Germany, with up to €100 million in syndicated capacity, according to Coverager.
The company said the change lets it write European Economic Area business directly through EEA brokers, covering commercial, industrial, and residential property risks. Coverage includes terrorism and sabotage, malicious damage, strikes, riots and civil commotion, active assailant incidents, war perils, and related liability.
Mosaic linked the expansion to growing European demand amid concerns about terrorism, state-backed sabotage, and social unrest. Coverager added that Mosaic started underwriting war, terrorism, and political violence risks globally in March 2021, and that its political violence team includes a dozen specialists across New York, Chicago, Boston, Bermuda, London, and Dubai, in addition to Cologne.
