Sedgwick names Courtney Welton as global chief legal officer

Welton joins from Allstate, where she served as senior vice president and general counsel, ethics, privacy, and compliance officer.

Sedgwick has appointed Courtney Welton as its global chief legal officer, general counsel, and corporate secretary, effective as the firm brings her into the executive leadership team.

Risk & Insurance reports that Sedgwick said Welton’s background includes leadership roles across legal, governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management, with experience from companies including Allstate.

Welton joins Sedgwick from Allstate Insurance Company, where she served as senior vice president, general counsel, and chief ethics, privacy, and compliance officer.

Before Allstate, she held senior legal leadership roles at Motorola Mobility, Google, and Lenovo, and she began her legal career at Skadden.
